Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Q. What is the difficulty of your course?

A. Remuda was designed for golfers of all abilities. It is a moderately difficult 6,352 yards from the black tees and 5,400 yards from the forward tees. We have large greens and wide fairways that are very forgiving. You shouldn’t lose a lot of golf balls. The terrain is generally flat with trees, bunkers, water hazards and mounds in the rough. It is heart and joint friendly for walkers, but long enough that the majority of people ride carts. It is categorized as a Modern American Parkland style, not a “links” style course. It has a USGA rating of 67.2 and slope of 97 which is subject to change each season. The trees are still young but are coming into play more and more each season.

Q. Can you explain to me the layout of your golf course?

A. Yes, Remuda is a regulation sized 18-hole course. It is a Modern American Parkland style golf course, not a “links” style course. We have a par of 72. We are 6,352 yards from the black tees. We have a residential neighborhood around the perimeter of the course. We have water hazards, sand and grass bunkers with trees and mounding in the rough. It is a fun and forgiving course. If you are a golfer with regular skills you will probably score well and not lose golf balls.  We also have a great "driver length" 300 yd driving range with covered mats and grass hitting areas, and a practice green for putting and chipping.

Q. Can you suggest which nine (side) would be better for me to play today?

A. The front nine is slightly shorter than the back nine, and it meanders through the houses and has more par 3's. It is typically considered more favorable by less experienced golfers. The back nine has more switch backs and not as many houses are in play, but it has more water hazards and long par 4's. It is typically considered more favorable by experienced golfers, and those with extreme slices. Score averages are slightly higher on the back nine. On weekends, holidays and busy times you may not have a choice which side to play when playing nine holes, you will probably be sent out on the front nine.

Q. Do I need a Tee Time?

A. We recommend you schedule one. Especially Friday through Saturday. We allow walk-ons, but they sometimes have to wait a half an hour or more. Tee time reservations are also available online. Tee times may be reserved up to a week ahead of time. Tournaments can be booked out several weeks in advance.

A. We have sign ups at the first of each season. If we have twelve or more golfers who sign up for each association, we then host the association throughout the season. (Usually April-September.) The annual membership fee is $20. Each week there is a different event. Weekly fees are required each week you play, in addition to the regular green fee each week (or punch card.) Players must establish a handicap with UGA. (Which is approximately $25/yr.) Winners are announced on Fridays. The schedules are posted in the clubhouse and online at www.remudagolf.com, click on Associations on the left hand side of the main page.
